Likes: The side of the brussel sprouts were very good, I really enjoyed them. I got the crabcake- it was flavorful and fresh with lots of fresh crab, however, it was not the best crab cake I have had and had a slightly weird after taste. Jey and I split the caprese salad which was amazing!!! So good! We also shared the donuts sprinkled with cinnamon sugar for dessert- they were excellent. :))
Drinks: I had the house Chardonnay with my meal and it was very tasty.
Comments: We came here for our anniversary and we had excellent service and they made us a dessert and wrote happy anniversary on it--it was a very sweet touch and perfect way to end the meal!!

Fig Tree Cafe

Likes: Jey had the stuffed french toast which he says is the best french toast he has ever had. It was stuffed with mascarpone cheese, mangoes and strawberries! It was amazing. I got the smoked salmon bene on their foccacia bread. It was excellent and I would go there again just for that.
Drinks: I had coffee. Really good coffee.
Comments: We went to the location in Hillcrest but there is also one in Pacific Beach. We went on a Saturday morning and there was no line we got a seat right on the terrace :) Go! you won't regret it!

-The shrimp burrito!!!!! I love it! It is filled with huge shrimp that are fresh and perfectly cooked. There is a simple and delicious white sauce and jack cheese. It is simple and the best shrimp burrito!!!! I go here for this burrito regularly and tell anyone who loves shrimp to get it.
-If your are looking for something vegetarian then the tofu breakfast burrito is great.
-I also really like to try their daily specials they have some unique burrito combos.
Drinks:They sell beer here and have yummy horchata.
Comments: This place is a little hole in the wall that is always busy! It is open late night. They have a salsa bar and really good spicy carrots with onions in the bar.

-The complimentary salad: it has the best dressing and is a perfect way to start a meal.
-Love the homemade soy milk.:) It has a slight banana taste and is the best soy milk I have ever had.
-Like the veggies with mock chicken and rice. The veggies are so fresh and colorful!
Drinks:Again, the soy milk! Try it!

-The pho: the broth is amazing and whenever I am feeling sick I go here and get the Pho. It has their own faux ham in the soup which is delicious- also it comes with white fungus flower, amazing taste so weird looking but unique and tasty!!
-The crispy rolls are very good I get those as an appetizer.
-The wonton soup is also very very good with the same broth as the pho but with yummy wontons.
Drinks: I haven't had any of the drinks yet but the vegan cheesecake is to die for!
Comments:This is a Vegan restaurant and one of the best in San Diego. It is a chain and there is also one I have been to in Mira Mesa and in downtown San Francisco. They are all pretty much the same but each one has some menu items the others do not.

Hanna's Gourmet on Adams Ave

-Everything on the breakfast menu, the omelets are very very tasty. I got a vegetarian one with goat cheese and pesto. It comes with toast and jam- the jam is homemade and the best jam I have had in a long time. We got apricot and blackberry jam.
-Iced Tea- the have a refreshing homemade iced tea, it is amazing!
-The peanut soup, it is thailand in a bowl. It has a peanut base broth with veggies and comes with rustic bread on the side.
Drinks:Try the homemade iced tea :)
Comments:This is a very small and quiet restaurant. Hanna the chef is there on most days and comes out and say hi to you! It is awesome! The nicest women and a food artist in my opinion. She changes the lunch and dinner menu every week, and I am so excited to go there for dinner. When I was there for breakfast I think it was Brazilian. This is a great place for a date or to bring parents visiting from out of town :) This is a hidden food jem and I encourage anyone who enjoys new and exciting food to go there!

-The lobster mac n' cheese- soo good very rich so I recommend sharing with a friend.
-The beet and goat cheese salad, big pieces of roasted beets soo yummy with the slightly warm goat cheese.
-The Brussel Sprouts: I get it with out the bacon and is still the best brussel I have ever had. They come on a large rustic board over-flowing from a mason jar with shaved parmesan and a balsamic reduction on top. They are the best- it is a large portion though so sharing would be a great idea!
Drinks:They have a small wine bar in the back. Very cute and intimate.
Comments: This is a fairly new restaurant to OB, and a great addition to the town. If you work for Scripps Health and you have a passport card- you get buy one entree get one free! I recommend making reservations to this restaurant because it can get pretty busy.

Drinks: Happy hour on Saturday gives you 10 tasting for 10$. This is a great and deal and really fun to do on a double date or with a group of people.
Comments: The atmosphere is quiet and cool, there are wine barrels all over and comfy couches. It is intimate and inviting. There is a wine steaks at liberty station as well, I have not been to it yet but I heard the atmosphere and location was even better.

South Beach
Rating: 4 - rating of 4 was given based largely on the fact that their mahi mahi fish tacos are always on point the best ones in SD! They do get very very busy and run out of them on Tuesdays so be warned!

-The Mahi Mahi Fish tacos; they are grilled after being marinated in a succulent sauce. They come on a flour tortilla with tomato, red onion and a white sauce. They are so good! We crave them all the time!
-Ever had Shark before? They have good shark tacos too!
Drinks: They have a wide selection of beers and fancy drinks! They have cheap drinks during their happy hour as well!
Comments: Their happy hour is great- the appetizers are all half off and the tacos are each about 2.50-2.75$. On taco tuesday their tacos are all 2.50$ and the atmosphere is funnn but with a long wait for about an hour for tacos! If you are under 21 years of age--sorry they won't let you in they card at the door at all hours. Also, they only take cash so make sure to go to the ATM before or there is one located inside the restaurant. They have a small smoking section that is on the bottom floor in the back. I recommend eating upstairs because you will get a view of the ocean. :)

-Veg/Tofu Pho; best Pho in SD, a huge portion with lime, mint and bean sprouts on the side, always flavorful and a huge crowd pleaser.
-Dry Chow Fun; Comes with chinese brocoli, tofu and veggies- the sauce is amazing and it is great as a left-over the next day!
Drinks: Great happy hour with specials on beer and sake. Try the Dirty Ho, you won't be disappointed. ;)
Comments: Very busy on the weekends- wait is usually about an hour so try the bar next door for some pre-dinner drinks! Great service and helpful staff. Be warned the music is very loud but the ambiance is energetic and exciting. Be careful if you go on your birthday.......free bottle of sake is awesome...but you have to chug it in front of everyone!! :)
